Landing Page Conversion System
Nine sections in a fixed order, because page problems are almost always positional
A brilliant guarantee placed above the proof does nothing, because the visitor has not yet decided they want the thing badly enough to worry about risk. The same guarantee three sections lower converts. When a page underperforms, look at order before you look at wording — page problems are almost always positional. THE NINE SECTIONS, which you may compress but not reorder: the promise, the subhead, the visual, the problem, the mechanism, the proof, the offer, the risk reversal, the close. Plus the objection section placed after the close, carrying the real reasons people do not buy rather than a marketing FAQ about shipping. The mechanism section gets special attention because it is the most under-used section on the internet. Benefits are claims and visitors discount claims automatically. A mechanism is an argument, and arguments survive scepticism. THE DIAGNOSTIC LADDER, worked in order: traffic match, clarity, motivation, friction, trust, timing. Fixing a lower rung while a higher one is broken changes nothing, and traffic mismatch is the single most common cause of a page that does not convert while the copy is fine. Plus the friction rules: every form field costs conversions, one call to action per page, remove the navigation, button text states the outcome, price on the page, and mobile is the real page.
